Preliminary Task - Day 2

Today we learnt how to use the DSLR cameras and the main tips that we should know when it comes to setting up the camera. For example changing the lighting when it comes to different locations. In order to set the camera correctly, the following steps had to be made.

1. Set the correct video settings:
Press menu on the first slide go to image quality and set it to a symbol which looks like a quarter pie and an L next to it.

2. Set the correct video settings:
Flick across a couple slides to Movie Rec size and set to 1920x1080 25.

3. Set the lens to MF:
On the side of the lens is a little switch, flick it to MF from AF. Focusing the lens whilst in AF can damage the lens.

4. Set the manual:
Roll the wheel on the top of the camera till the M lines up with the little dash on top of the camera.

5. Shutter speed:
Use the scroll wheel (no the wheel above) by the shutter release to adjust shutter speeds. 50 is perfect for film.

6. ISO:
Change your ISO settings by holding the button labelled ISO and using the wheel above to scroll through

7: Aperture:
Hold the button labelled AV and use the scroll wheel to adjust the aperture.
